How and why we use cookies on trembar.ca, and how to manage them
This Cookie Policy explains how Trembar Wholesale ("Trembar Wholesale", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.trembar.ca (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owner. We also use a few similar technologies that store data in your browser without using a traditional cookie file (for example, local storage); for simplicity, this policy refers to all of them as "cookies."
Cookies set by Trembar Wholesale on the Site are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by a different domain through content embedded on the Site (for example, our analytics provider) are called third-party cookies.
We use cookies for two purposes only:
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, profiling, or selling to third parties. We do not run ad-tech, social-media, or affiliate-tracking pixels on the Site.
The Site currently uses the following cookies:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google (Google Analytics 4) | Distinguishes unique visitors so we can measure overall site traffic and usage patterns. | Third-party · Analytics | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> |
Google (Google Analytics 4) | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 (e.g. _ga_BEMPSQHJMZ). |
Third-party · Analytics | Up to 2 years |
The exact list of cookies set in your browser may vary slightly depending on Google's product updates. We do not control Google's cookie behaviour beyond enabling Google Analytics on our Site.
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated, pseudonymized information about how visitors interact with the Site. Information collected by Google Analytics is governed by Google's privacy practices, available at policies.google.com/privacy. We have IP-anonymization and data-retention controls enabled where Google Analytics 4 makes them available.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies in your browser, or using your browser's "Do Not Track" or equivalent setting, may also limit Google Analytics tracking on the Site.
You can control cookies in several ways:
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not function correctly. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on Site functionality.
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal indicating that the user does not want to be tracked. There is no consensus industry standard for how websites should respond. The Site does not currently respond differently to these signals; users who prefer not to be tracked can rely on the opt-out methods described above. We will update this policy if our handling of these signals changes.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to the legal landscape. The "Last updated" date below shows when the most recent change was made. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
